In the crumbling Soviet Union, the Petrosyan family finds themselves marginalized – wherever they go. Because of their Armenian heritage, they are discriminated against first in their own country, Azerbaijan, and then in Russia. After finding their eternal hope in a church founded by American missionaries, everyday hostility forces them to seek refuge in the United States. In the shadow of exile, hope became their home. The film is based on a true story of faith and hope in the midst of immense oppression.
